Venice. Punta della Dogana Museum

This is the Grand Canal in Venice, at the confluence with the Giudecca Canal. On the right, we can see the museum Punta della Dogana, located on the site of the former customs.

The part of the museum you see on the screen is one of the most popular places where tourists take photos; a small triangular area offers stunning views of the many attractions of Venice, such as Campanile di San Marco.

Punta della Dogana Art Museum settled in the Dogana da Mar building at the end of the seventeenth century. On the building, there is a sculpture of two slaves holding a golden ball. In 2009, a large-scale reconstruction of the Punta della Dogana was held.

Another attraction of Venice, which we can see behind the former customs, is a high bell tower of the church of San Giorgio Maggiore. It was built in 1791 on the site of the collapsed belfry.
