Christchurch. Monck's Bay

We are on the edge of the world, in the suburb of Monck’s Bay, Christchurch, New Zealand. The suburb is named after the bay you can see on the screen. The camera is installed on the coastal highway of Main Road and is directed toward the eastern cape, where one of the natural beauties of Monck’s Bay, Shag Rock, is located.

The development of the Bay area began at the time of George Heath, in March 1851. Then William McCormack owned the land, the nearby bay was named after him. The Bay was named after the third owner, John Stanley Monck.

On the screen, we can see the enchanting landscape of the New Zealand coast, with private houses built on the slopes of the hills. The red-roofed building on the bay is owned by the local Christchurch Yacht Club. It is one of the oldest in the country, built in 1891.

You can also see stunning views of the ocean and the beach on the other side. There are surf clubs, restaurants, and bars, as well as several hotels along the coast.
