Bovec. Kanin Ski Resort
We are on Mount Kanin, on the slopes of which are laid the routes of the combined resort, Kanin-Sella Nevea. Our camera is directed towards the Slovenian part of the resort. The lower station of the lift, which is seen in the frame, is in the town of Bovec. From the Italian side, the nearest to the resort settlements are Tarvisio and Chiusaforte.
In total, the resort has 30 kilometers of ski slopes, which are serviced by 12 lifts. Since we are in the Slovenian part of the sports complex, it is worth noting that Kanin is the only resort in the country that has highways at a height of more than 2 kilometers above sea level. In 2013, the Slovenian part of the resort was closed, but after the renovation, it was opened again for the 2016/2017 season.
The resort has medium and very difficult trails. But the only black descent goes along the Italian slopes. Its length is 1,800 meters. It is worth noting that, in comparison to other Italian resorts located in the Alps, Kanin-Sella Nevea offers nearly half-priced cable car tickets, at about € 46.
In addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding in Bovec and Sella Nevea, you can go cross-country skiing and sleigh riding.
