Oberstdorf. Schöllang Village
Schöllang is one of many areas surrounding the popular German resort of Oberstdorf. There are several inexpensive hotels in it. It makes sense to stay here, only if you have a car by which you can easily reach cableways.
In the center of the village is the Catholic Church of St. Michael. The main attraction of Schöllang is closer to Oberstdorf; the Schöllanger Burgkirche was built in the Middle Ages, high on a hill above Lake Awald. In it, you can see the original frescoes of the 15th century, which depict scenes of the trial of Christ, and images of Mary and St. Michael.
Near the mountain church, there is a functioning cemetery where inhabitants of Schöllang and surrounding villages are still buried.
Most of the accommodation in Schöllang are guest houses. You can choose a hotel in this village on the Oberstdorf website.
