Panevėžys. The Nevezis River and Lake

We are now in the very center of Panevėžys, which is the fifth largest city in Lithuania and is located in the middle of the country. The beautiful Nevezis River runs through the entire city and can be seen on the left side of the picture. Panevėžys is an important transport hub; it lies between two Baltic capitals — Vilnius and Riga — on the international highway called “Via Baltica”. This favorable location provides opportunities for commercial prosper of the city.

This webcam is located on the territory of the Hotel Romantic. Prices for one standard room in this four-star hotel starts from 100 USD for a night. On the right side of the picture, we can observe the Nevezis Lake and building of the hotel.

Among the most interesting cultural attractions of Panevėžys should be mentioned Juozas Miltinis Drama Theatre and The Puppet Wagon Theater, both famous in Lithuania and outside.

Many of the major tourist points of interest are located close to each other. For example, if you take a look at the left part of this picture, you will see the beautiful Saint Peter and Saint Paul’s Church with the city park Skaistakalnio located right behind.
