Klaipėda. The Theatre Square

Enjoy the view of the old part of the city of Klaipeda. We can see the Theatre Square, where stands the city’s Drama Theatre together with the famous statue of “Ännchen von Tharau”, dedicated to Simon Dach, one of the famous composers who lived and worked in Vilnius. This statue is a new replica placed on the place of the original one, which disappeared without a trace during the second world war.

Klaipėda Drama Theatre was established shortly before the war broke out. Today this is one of the most popular theatres in Lithuania.
