Geiranger. Geirangerfjord Cruise Port

In the heart of Norway is Geirangerfjord port, at which more than 100 cruise ships arrive every year. Tourists can visit the museum of fjords in the village of Geiranger, which gave the name to the local port.

To say that tourists’ breath is taken away at the sight of the giant cliffs, towering high in the sky, is to say nothing! Attractions of Geirangerfjord are located all along the canal. Here you can find huge waterfalls, the most famous of which are Syv Søstre (the Seven Sisters), Brudesløret (Bridal Veil) and Friaren (Groom).

It’s surprising, but local farmers live in these places; however it is possible to get to their lands only by a rope ladder.

Panoramic photos and the cameras installed at the local hotels provide magnificent views remotely, but it is better to visit the Norwegian fjords in person; their grandeur is both frightening and alluring.

By the way, Geirangerfjord is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
