Ribeira Grande. Santa Barbara Beach

In front of us is one of the few beaches of the resort of Ribeira Grande. In general, it is not easy to find a comfortable and equipped beach here. They are all in the rocky coastal zone, along the perimeter of the whole island.

Santa Barbara is located in the western part of the town. Here, vacationers not only enjoy the hot sun and bathe in the ocean, but also try their hand at surfing. The camera is installed at the Azores Surf Center. Ten private lessons, which help master the basics of surfing, cost almost 1000 euros, and a wetsuit and board rental are 250 euros.

There are almost no hotels near the beach, so all tourists come here from the town center, where you can stay in a hotel or hostel. Near the beach, you can rent a villa. Santa Barbara Eco-Beach Resort offers many houses to choose from. A small villa, for a group of four people, will cost 1000 euros per week.
