In front of us is the easternmost area of the island of Flores, Santa Cruz das Flores. The Santa Cruz airport is built along the shore — we can see its runway.

The active development of tourism in the Azores is hampered by poor access to water, so the guests of this resort mostly go hiking through the mountains and volcanoes of the island. In the center of Flores, tourists will find amazing waterfalls in the natural reserves of the island, and sometimes they can see the snow-covered slopes of the mountains.

In the town itself, you can find a dozen ancient churches, as well as a lighthouse, a whaling factory, and a museum.
