This is Slovenia’s Soča River. The camera is installed in the kayak center between the two Solkan bridges — old and new. Both bridges lead from Slovenia to Italy. The new bridge is behind this camera, but we can see the architectural masterpiece of the beginning of the last century in the background.

The 220-meter long old Solkan bridge is the longest bridge, among railway bridges, built of stone blocks. The span of the arch, which is clearly visible in this image, is 85 meters. The official opening of the bridge took place in 1906. During the Second World War, the bridge was bombed twice but only slightly damaged.

As for the Soča River which flows under the Solkan Bridge, its length is 140 kilometers. It originates in the Julian Alps, at an altitude of 876 meters above sea level, and flows into the Adriatic Sea in the region of the Italian town of Monfalcone.

As you have already guessed, rafting is popular on the river. There are enough thresholds and difficult areas, so even experienced athletes can enjoy the route.
