Morschach. The Village of Stoos
The mountain village of Stoos is essentially a ski resort, where 150 Swiss citizens live permanently. The settlement is located at an altitude of 1,305 meters above sea level and belongs to the larger Morsсhach community, located on the shore of Vierwaldstättersee.
Stoos also has its own pond, but compared to the famous lake at the foot of the mountain, Lake Stoos is just a small swimming pool. Ski slopes and comfortable hotels for every taste are the main attractions here. The resort can accommodate up to 2,200 guests at a time. Most hotels offer package tours, which include accommodations and ski passes for the local cable cars.
On the screen, we can see the cable cars of Stoos. In 2000, two four-seater chairlifts were built, leading to the top of the Fronalpstock, at a height of 1,922 meters. In 2007, a six-seater cable car was also built there. It delivers tourists a little higher, to the top of Klingenstock (1,935 meters).
In the summer, the above-mentioned tops turn into the hiking trail destinations. Therefore, in the summer, it is not so easy to find vacant places in Stoos hotels.
