Lampang. Bridge over the Wang River

This camera is installed in the temple of Wat Ko Walukaram, built at the Vang River, in the Thai city of Lampang. Vang is the longest tributary of the larger Ping River. Its length is 335 kilometers, and the area of the basin is 10,792 square kilometers. The origins of the river are in the province of Chiang Rai, and the largest city on the river is Lampang.

In the foreground, we can see Rattanakosin, an old city bridge. One of the roads between the southern and northern parts of the city is laid over the Rassadanukul Bridge. The modern hotel Villa Rassada Nakorn Lampang, where a room can be rented for only $20, is between these two bridges on the north shore.

Lampang has a rich history. It used to be the largest city in the kingdom of Lanna. In Lampang province is an important landmark of the whole country, one of the most beautiful temples of Thailand, Wat Phra That Lampang Luang.
