Zauchensee can hardly be called a village because it consists of several hotels and restaurants; this resort is part of a larger community called Altenmarkt im Pongau. There are several such resorts in the neighborhood, but they don’t have ski runs like Zauchensee.

The resort is part of the huge complex, Skiparadies Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl, which has a single ski pass. This is very convenient because you can try several routes on different mountains.

One day pass costs € 50.00, but you can hardly visit several resorts in such a short time. You need at least three days, which will cost € 148.50. As you can see, the discount is not very good in comparison with other ski resorts.

It should also be noted that international competitions take place in Zauchensee, including the World Alpine Ski Championships. So, several times a year this resort becomes a center of these sports.
