Hinterstoder. Slopes of Hirschenkogel
The cableway, Hirschkogelbahn, at the upper station of which we are now, is built on the slopes of the eponymous mountain. A panoramic camera shows us the slopes of Hirschenkogel, as well as the natural beauty of the Austrian resort of Hinterstoder.
At the very beginning of the survey, a part of the Northern Limestone Alps is seen in the background. Almost all the peaks of this mountain range have a height of more than 2 kilometers above sea level. If the camera could turn toward the border of Upper Austria and Styria, we would see the same mountain peaks in the south.
Hirschkogelbahn was built in 2012. The lift serves a 1.5-kilometer section of the slope, with a height difference of almost 400 meters. In panoramic, 10-person cabins, tourists can reach the top station in 4.5 minutes, while enjoying the Alpine scenery during their trip.
At the foot of Hirschenkogel, we can see the area of Hutterer Böden with hotels and restaurants. In the summer, right under the cableway, tourists can relax on the shore of a manmade reservoir, Hutterer, built to supply snow cannons with water.
