Hintertux. Tuxer Ferner Glacier

Hintertux is a unique ski resort between Innsbruck and Austrian Bolzano. Skiers on the slopes of local glaciers can be seen all year round because, in the upper part of the resort, the snow does not melt, even on the hottest days of summer. The camera is installed at the Tuxer Ferner Station, named after the eponymous glacier (we can see skiers on its slopes).

In the summer, you can reach the station by car, along a serpentine, coming from Hintertux. The mountain restaurant, Tuxer Fernerhaus, renovated in 2013, operates at the station. Built at an altitude of 2,660 meters, the restaurant has tried to take into account all the possible vagaries of holidaymakers, such as a separate smoking area, a large conference room for business meetings, a terrace with stunning Alpine scenery and much more.

There are several options for buying tickets for the cableways of the resort. In the summer, this is especially important because the offers for backpackers and skiers differ in price by almost two times. For example, an ascent and descent to Tuxer Fernerhaus costs € 23, and a day ski pass, which is perfect for skiing, costs € 44.

In the winter, prices are slightly higher, so a day pass costs € 52. It is also worth considering that, if you arrive after 8 am, the ticket will be a little cheaper.
