Obertauern. Slopes of Plattenspitze
Several times a month, a flying camera rises into the sky above the Gamsleiten 2 cable car station to capture a panorama of the northeastern slopes of the Obertauern Resort. In the background, we can see Plattenspitze; the Plattenkar cableway leads to its top.
This lift was built by Leitner, in the east of Obertauern, in 1991. The upper station of the four-seater funicular is located at an altitude of 2,051 meters above sea level, the top of Platenspitze is 243 meters higher.
At the bottom of the image, you can see hotels that are popular with tourists. All of them are in close proximity to the lift, so the prices are quite high. For example, three-star Wismeyerhaus Obertauern offers double rooms for 100 euros per night.
On the screen, you can observe skiers on both the northern and southern slopes, above which this camera hovers.
