Osor. Bridge between the Islands of Cres and Lošinj

Croatian resort islands are connected not only by ferries, but also by bridges. You can see a bridge connecting the islands of Losinj and Cres. The Osor resort covers the territory of two islands, while the campsites and other tourist infrastructure are located mostly on the island of Cres.

The swivel bridge we are looking at, from the island of Losinj, is one of the sights of Osor. Its design allows ships to go through a narrow strait between the islands. In addition to the bridge, we can see the ruins of various medieval fortifications and other lost architectural masterpieces of Osor.

Another important Osor construction is the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God. Its high bell tower, built in the Renaissance architecture style, is also visible. The church was built at the end of the 15th century and, since then, has been rebuilt and reconstructed several times. In the treasury of the cathedral there are several valuable paintings, church relics, and a collection of church utensils.

In addition to a beach holiday, Osor is known for its music festivals. They are held in the summer months, when dozens of virtuosos, from all over the world, come here to the Osorske musical evenings (Osorske glazbene večeri).
