Saint-Valery-en-Caux. Beach
We are on the pebble beach of the English Channel. The town of Saint-Valery-en-Caux, completely destroyed during the Second World War, is in the north of France and is considered a popular resort among the French. It is interesting that even in spite of considerable damage in the 1940s, the wooden house of King Henry IV, as well as the Church of Our Lady, are perfectly preserved in the town.
The beach of Saint Valery, we can see it on the screen, is located in the eastern part of the resort, where the traffic of vessels that moor at the harbor of Saint-Valery-en-Caux is not very active. On the opposite side of the resort is another beach, Ouest, which is less popular with tourists.
Just behind the beach of Saint Valery is a huge rock d’Amont, hanging over the Channel, so vacationers have an excellent view not only of the water but also the coastal landscape.
On the beaches of Saint-Valery-en-Caux, several episodes of the French romantic comedy Le Nom des gens (Names of People), by Michel Leclerc, were filmed.
In the left part of the image, you can see the lighthouse, Saint-Valery-en-Caux. It is located right at the entrance to the harbor.
