Wissant. View of Cap Blanc Nez from the Beach
From the sandy beach of the French commune of Wissant, in clear weather, you can see the coast of the UK, as well as the headlands of Cap Blanc Nez and Cap Gris Nez. The camera is directed towards the first, located in the northeast; the cape is clearly visible in the background.
Steep cliffs, towering over the English Channel, consist of chalk and marl. On the grassy slopes of the capes, the craters, left here after World War II, can be seen. Because of its unique nature, this district of Pas-de-Calais has become an attractive destination for tourists.
It gets crowded on the beach, when you can’t see any scene on your screen. This means the tide, during which water moves away from the shore at a distance of 800 meters.
