Hooksiel. Außenhafen Harbor

Hooksiel, located on the shore of the North Sea, for many centuries had developed as a fishing village on the edge of the country. The situation changed at the beginning of the 20th century when the military power of Germany was developing, not tourism. There were numerous troops in Hooksiel, which served for the defense of Wilhelmshaven, and during the Second World War, it was restored for the needs of the Third Reich.

Today, 2,000 people, many of whom are engaged in tourism, live in Hooksiel. The camera is installed in the harbor of Außenhafen, one of the most visited places in the town. Another popular place with tourists is the sandy beach. It can be found north of the harbor.

A lot of pleasure boats leave the harbor for a sea voyage. There are various programs ideal for a family holiday. For example, a mini-cruise with a visit to the lighthouse and fishing in the open sea costs € 48 (the price for two adults and one child).
