Horumersiel. Dorfplatz
We are going to north Germany, to the shores of the North Sea. The camera is installed in the center of the small town of Horumersiel. On the screen, we can see the central square, Dorfplatz, and the surrounding shops, hotels, and restaurants. The square itself is a small lawn with a tall shady tree, as well as a platform with benches, a fountain, and an artificial river.
In the square is the town’s main hotel, Leuchtfeuer. The family-run three-star hotel offers rooms of different levels of comfort, as well as its own restaurant, serving German cuisine, and a spa with a sauna, steam bath, hot tub, and solarium.
During the holiday season, a sightseeing train on wheels goes through Dorfplatz. It runs between the main attractions of the resort.
Horumersiel began to develop the tourist industry in the middle of the 19th century, when a flood destroyed the popular nearby resort of Wangerooge.
The Coast Guard battle boat, KW 19, installed near the center, can be distinguished among the resort attractions. It is located within five minutes walk from Dorfplatz.
