Ermoupoli. Panoramic View over the Town

Ermoupoli is a town and a principal port on the island of Syros (the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea). This is also a center of traditional shipbuilding in the South Aegean region.

Historical importance of this place is reflected in its classical town architecture. On the top of the hill, above the town and on its northern side, you can see the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, patron saint of the city. The southern part of the hill is occupied by the Catholic district Ano Syros.
