The Italian community of Mergozzo is built on the shore of the lake of the same name, located near the popular resorts of Lake Maggiore. The camera on the embankment shows us typical North Italian houses, Vittorio Veneto Square, and the slopes of the Alpine mountains, Monte Faiè and Monte Todum.

It is interesting that, in ancient times, Lake Mergozzo represented the western extremity of Lake Maggiore, but after several centuries of regular flooding around the Toсe River, the modern small lake of Mergozzo was created. Its dimensions are 2.5 kilometers by 1 kilometer. From the southwest, the lake is bordered by Mount Montortano, and on the south bank is the Verbania Golf Club.

In the town square of Mergozzo, its main symbol, the hollow tree, Olmo, has been growing for many centuries. Judging by historical documents, the tree in this place existed in 1600. The ancient tree continues to bloom today, but it is supported by metal supports to prevent falling. In the image, Olmo is clearly seen against other low trees.

The architectural dominant of the resort is the tall bell tower of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which we can also see on the screen.
