Terskol. Mount Elbrus. Garabashi Station. The Cableway

Over a very long time, Elbrus cableway was the only way to get to Garabashi station. Due to the growing popularity of the resort, there was opened a new gondola lift, “Poma-3”, in 2015. For today, this is the most prominent funicular lift in Europe, while it serves the Garabashi station, which is located at the altitude of 3847 metres above sea level and is the highest situated station in Europe.

The new lift is equipped with modern cabins, with capacity of 8 persons each. Several cabins are specially equipped for use by physically handicapped persons.

The ski slope starting from Garabashi is marked with “blue” level of difficulty, only a small part of it is “red”. Actually, in summer period, this resort place is as popular, as in wintertime. Many people dream about coming here just to take one look at the surrounding beauty from the top of one of the greatest mountains on the planet.
