Algaida. City Panorama

Tourist programs on the islands often include a beach holiday and a visit to the province. At first glance, it may seem that in front of us is continental Spain—the sea in the image is closed by the peaks of the Sierra de Tramontana mountain range. But in fact, we are located in the center of the island of Mallorca, in the town of Algaida.

In addition to the mountain range and its peaks, including Major (1,436 meters above sea level), we can see typical Algaydy streets, its low houses and several sights. On the left, 100-150 meters from the camera is an old mill.

The city is famous for its windmills built in the 18th19th centuries. Today, many of them have become historical monuments and are not used for their intended purpose. Some mills are dismantled and more like watchtowers.

Bosso, Nofre, Aljub, Xim, Pau, Nou, Sant, and other mills are scattered throughout the city and its outskirts.
