Husum. Harbor

Husum is a town located by the North Sea.

Husum, as most towns on the sea, was strongly influenced by storms. In 1362 a storm called the “Grote Mandrenke” flooded the town and formed out the inland harbor. The town has never been located directly on the coast before. The inhabitants of the city used this chance and built a marketplace, which later led the whole city to a great economic development.
