San Diego. Cabrillo National Reserve

The coastal city of San Diego has not only great views of the ocean, but also an amazing landscape. This camera is set on the hilly peninsula, Point Loma, on the territory of the Cabrillo National Reserve. It’s named after the navigator Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, who was the first to come to the western shores of the future United States.

The camera is located next to the observation deck. There is also a monument of Cabrillo. The reserve regularly hosts festivals, as well as historical reconstruction of the events of the 16th century. Point Loma offers stunning views of the San Diego Harbor, as well as the resort area of Coronado.

One of the main attractions of the reserve is the old Point Loma lighthouse, built in 1855 on the highest point of the peninsula. Now, it houses a museum, and the functions of the lighthouse and rescue station are performed by a new structure erected at the extreme northern point of Point Loma.

Visitors to the national park enjoy the best views of San Diego and can also get acquainted with the history of the reserve and its surroundings in the tourist center, the roof from which we are looking at the ocean.
